Magically Artistic
Michelangelo
A passion for magic is a natural outgrowth of many interests. Combining art, technology, theater,
science, music and architecture, Michelangelo's magic and illusions are rapidly gaining
visibility in the world of entertainment. Intriguing set pieces and a charming performing style represent
the unique blend of experiences that have shaped Michelangelo’s life from the beginning. And catching the
magic bug was a happy accident. A doctor's appointment almost kept Michelangelo away from school
on the day students presented a magic show that was inspired by a book from the school
library. But the appointment was canceled, Michelangelo went to school, and the rest is history.
In 2000, Michelangelo created Michelangelo Magic Works, Inc. as a design studio for developing and
constructing magical effects and illusions. In combining new visual elements and methods he has consulted
with performers in 25 states in the U.S. and 12 foreign countries. Inventive new twists on illusions and
tricks led to his first booking as an opening act for a major magic convention and performing at the 2002
Winter Olympic Games. Driven to present illusionary artistry that hasn’t been seen by audiences before,
he has created unique effects and illusions to perform in concert with theater groups, dance companies
and symphony orchestra and has written two plays, “Murder by Magic” and “The Haunting of Dr. D’Arc,”
which incorporate magic into their stories.
Michelangelo began collecting skills and interests from an early age in theater, literature, illustration
and magic. Later, music and technology and film captured his attention. A Bachelor’s degree in English
led to work in technical documentation, instructional design, marketing and producing computer games.
These disciplines eventually blended together into theatrical magic for the stage—the ideal art form
to encompass them all. Today, Michelangelo designs his own illusions, scripts his productions and often
composes the music that accompanies each show.
“Channel Changer,” Michelangelo’s latest ground-breaking illusion, blends technology, theater and magic
to produce a new and unusual audience experience. Equally at home onstage for pure entertainment or as a
vehicle for corporate promotions, the illusion combines the technical skill and performing acumen
developed throughout Michelangelo’s diverse magic life.
Michelangelo is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Society of American Magicians and
the Intermountain Magician’s Association.
